Starting Pay $19.75/hr plus a $2.00 shift premium

Hours

B Shift – Sunday to Wednesday 8:00 pm to 8:00 am

The Cooker operator controls the cooking process from hydrolyzing the product to a finished product.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Hydrolyzing raw Meat and blood.
  • Sizing.
  • Running the Machinery that processes the meat into meal.
  • Transferring of hydrolyzed meal to storage.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have 3 months of work history with one employer within the last 2 years listed on the application.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

SAFETY

Keep work area clean and free of clutter (housekeeping);
Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE);
Using correct tool for each job assignment;
Report injury of oneself or coworker to management;
Report job hazards immediately (correct immediately when possible) and document;
Inspect all tools and materials for defects and safety issues;
Follow all safety rules and guidelines.

New Hire Sign‑On Bonus

New Hire SIGN‑ON Bonus: $3,000.00 sign-on bonus paid out $500.00 at 30 days. $1,000.00 paid out at 90 days and $1,500.00 paid out at 6 months.

Shift Rotation

Shifts are subject to periodic rotation every 8 weeks.

Rehire Criteria

Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.

Rehire Rule: no more than 3 times worked at Tyson Foods.

Plant Shutdown

Sunday is a scheduled plant shut down primarily for maintenance, housekeeping and training.
