TRC Talent Solutions is partnering with a leading industrial control and automation supplier to identify an Automation Maintenance Technician to support a high-performance, technology-driven operations environment. The organization specializes in automation systems integration and maintenance and is focused on ensuring optimal equipment uptime, reliability, and continuous improvement across production and logistics systems.
SummaryThis role is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving automated and auxiliary equipment in a fast-paced industrial environment. The Automation Maintenance Technician will support electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems while ensuring high equipment uptime and operational efficiency. The position requires strong hands-on technical capability, disciplined maintenance execution, and the ability to collaborate closely with logistics and operations teams.
ResponsibilitiesDiagnose, troubleshoot, and repair automation and auxiliary equipment
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on automation systems
Support electrical systems including low and high voltage components
Troubleshoot PLC-controlled, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
Perform inspections and maintain equipment reliability and uptime
Respond to operational calls and provide timely technical support
Communicate effectively with logistics and maintenance teams
Write and maintain service reports, downtime documentation, and maintenance logs
Update and maintain internal maintenance procedures and documentation
Use CMMS systems to track work orders, PMs, and service records
Utilize downtime and performance data to drive continuous improvement
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
Support vendor troubleshooting and equipment performance optimization
Participate in ongoing training for WMS, TGW, and automation systems
2-year degree in Mechatronics or related technical field preferred OR 4+ years of electrical/electro-mechanical experience
3+ years of Microsoft Office experience (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Experience with 480V electrical systems
Basic understanding of PLC systems and automation control logic
Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems and industrial communications
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Experience using multimeters and electrical diagnostic tools
Understanding of safe electrical practices (LOTO, de-energizing, arc flash awareness)
Knowledge of WMS systems (receiving, picking, replenishment) a plus
Experience with automated material handling or warehouse systems a plus
