Position SummaryThe Print Operator / Print Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing EFI large-format printers while ensuring consistent print quality and maximizing equipment uptime. This role is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and motivated to produce high-quality results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Equipment
- EFI 32R (large-format printer)
- Operate EFI large-format printers safely and efficiently to meet production schedules.
- Perform daily preventative maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of printing equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and print-quality issues.
- Diagnose and perform repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Monitor color accuracy, print quality, and production consistency.
- Load/unload and safely handle large media rolls and printing materials.
- Partner with Graphics, Production, and Shipping teams to meet customer deadlines.
- Maintain accurate production records and promptly report equipment issues.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Recommend improvements to increase equipment reliability, efficiency, and print quality.
- Follow all safety policies and standard operating procedures.
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating large-format digital printing equipment.
- EFI VUTEk experience strongly preferred.
- Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing large-format printing equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose equipment problems.
- Knowledge of color management, media handling, and print production processes.
- Ability to read work orders and prioritize multiple production tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a team environment.
- Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Frequently lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
- Stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
- Safely handle large rolls of media and finished products.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment around moving equipment.
