Quality Engineer I
Are you looking to grow your career in quality engineering within a hands-on manufacturing environment where you can directly impact product quality and customer satisfaction? This opportunity as a Quality Engineer I offers the chance to work closely with cross-functional teams to support quality processes, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with customer and internal standards. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with technical documentation, and being deeply involved in production and quality systems.
Responsibilities:
- Create and update quality documentation including control plans, manufacturing guides, and prints to align with customer expectations
- Process engineering change notices (ECNs) and requests for change (ROCs), ensuring proper communication across departments
- Support PPAP submissions and manage customer portals for documentation and quality updates
- Generate corrective actions and initiate containment for non-conforming products
- Participate in MRB and review meetings to ensure proper disposition of non-conforming materials
- Maintain quality databases and ensure accuracy of rejection and corrective action data
- Assign and track corrective actions to improve product quality and prevent recurrence
- Collaborate with customers on print changes, deviations, and quality requirements
- Assist in new product launches and ensure quality requirements are met during development
- Work closely with quality leadership and sales to meet customer expectations
- Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvement initiatives across operations
- Travel to other facilities or customer sites as needed
Required Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or engineering within a similar environment
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications
- Working knowledge of metal manufacturing processes and production environments
- Experience performing product inspections and quality evaluations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong communication and project coordination skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with PPAP, corrective actions (8D), and quality management systems
- Familiarity with Solid Works
- Experience in medium to heavy manufacturing environments
- Exposure to customer-facing quality processes
