Responsibilities
  • Effectively and accurately execute the Race Trac store plan to ensure brand consistency and enhance guest experience.
  • Foster a Guest‑Obsessed culture by rallying team members around a guest‑focused approach, implementing strategies to enhance the guest experience, and proactively addressing concerns.
  • Employ strategies to boost spirits during busy and stressful times, creating an enjoyable environment for all guests, team members, and vendors.
  • Foster a food safety mindset within the store through continuous coaching and training on food safety and standards. Conduct regular quality checks to ensure all standards are met or exceeded.
  • Develop sales and marketing strategies, including team incentives, to support food promotions and reinforce a Guest Obsessed culture.
  • Identify compliance gaps and collaborate with regional leadership to ensure all associates and the store meet jurisdictional requirements. Maintain accurate records and communicate them effectively.
  • Responsible for overseeing storewide training by training, supporting, and empowering Co‑Managers and Shift Managers to effectively deliver coaching, training, and feedback to associates in alignment with the store's overall strategy and Race Trac policies.
  • Understand the impact of inventory on Race Trac and execute all steps of the inventory process, including regular audits and inventory checks. Take necessary actions, such as investigating inventory discrepancies and cash shrink, to maintain control.
  • Analyze sales, margin, shrink, and labor reports to identify improvement opportunities, then establish and clearly communicate corrective action plans to team members, ensuring they understand how their performance impacts business results.
  • Adopt a Guest‑Obsessed mindset by regularly visiting competitors to assess the competitive landscape, encouraging associates to contribute ideas for operational improvements, and sharing key insights with the regional team.
  • Establish regular communication with vendors to discuss orders, delivery schedules, and potential issues. Provide feedback on performance, address areas for improvement, and elevate concerns when necessary.
  • Establish clear communication channels across all shifts to ensure critical information is accurately conveyed to the appropriate staff members.
  • Monitor store traffic closely and create effective schedules at least two weeks in advance, accounting for high and low traffic periods while balancing labor costs.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely execution of payroll, guaranteeing all associates' hours are properly recorded and paid accurately.
  • Proactively use data, such as sales trends, seasonality, and turnover, to determine staffing needs and ensure the store remains adequately staffed at all times.
  • Oversee all written performance management for the staff, ensuring performance conversations are conducted privately, respectfully, and constructively with all documentation completed and signed.
  • Foster a growth mindset in team members by providing continuous feedback, coaching, and support on their development journey.
  • Create an inclusive environment, ensuring all team members feel valued, included, and empowered to bring their whole selves to work.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED in progress or completed.
  • 5+ years of prior food service, retail, or restaurant supervisory experience; retail management experience preferred.
  • Previous experience working in high‑volume, guest‑focused, transactional environment preferred.
  • Knowledge and skills in analyzing overall financial performance of the store including profit and loss statements.
  • High School Diploma or GED completion or (actively working on it) required.
