Responsibilities- Follow the merchandising Bulk plan, ensuring the team packages, scales, fills bulk bins, and prepares, wraps, and prices bulk packages accurately and legibly.
- Order, maintain inventory, rotate product using code dates, and follow the company’s cleaning and sanitation program.
- Oversee department compliance with all company and governmental safety, health, Weights & Measures, and COOL regulations.
- Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
- Provide a high level of customer service.
- Ensure bulk items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented; keep the bulk area clean and orderly at all times.
- Receive, unload, and stock merchandise as needed throughout the day.
- Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one‑on‑one development discussions; recommend merit increases via bi‑annual performance reviews.
- Regularly attend and participate in in‑store meetings.
- Recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
- Exercise independent judgment to address team member concerns.
- Document corrective actions, collaborating with business and HR partners to manage performance including coaching, counseling, discipline, suspension, or termination when needed.
- Ensure maximum productivity and efficiency by creating and adjusting schedules and staffing levels.
- Lead a team that collaborates to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience for customers.
- Serve as a Key Carrier for the store and/or act as a Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have 1‑2 years of experience in a retail grocery environment and 1 year of managerial leadership experience.
- Be dependable and reliable, able to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Know weekly ad items and be able to direct customers to product locations throughout the store; perform general housekeeping in the department.
- Possess a working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
- Exhibit outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude toward team members and customers.
- Move vertically/horizontally to transfer product weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4” to 36”, for a distance up to 4 feet, for up to 15 hours without mechanical assistance. This role requires continuous standing for up to 4 hours, for a total of 8 hours per shift.
