About the role

The EXOVATIONS of Atlanta, LLC (EXO) Carpenter II plays a vital role in the installation of decks, porches, windows, and doors. Carpenters are valued members of a team who provide the best customer experience possible. They are provided opportunities to learn and grow within a four-tiered process and are expected to be team players and self‑motivated.

  • Maintain safe and clean worksites and vehicles.
  • Ensure happy EXO customers.
  • Seek opportunities to advance to LC (Lead Carpenter).
Qualifications

CARPENTER II (C2) – ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ABILITIES

  • Perform all essential duties, abilities, and key result areas required of C1.
  • Understand scope of work.
  • Possess ability to define correct door swings.
  • Use all EVO power/pneumatic tools proficiently.
  • Help keep C1 employees productive.
  • Understand and utilize proper layout for structural members.
  • Finish concrete properly.
  • Set up and operate ladders safely.
  • Frame knee walls and roofs.
  • Understand use of speed square.

CARPENTER III (C3) – ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ABILITIES

  • Perform all essential duties and key result areas required of C2.
  • Work independently on parts of projects without supervision.
  • Identify next steps on the project without being told.
  • Know all products and materials; install per manufacturer specifications.
  • Install rafters, joists, beams, and bands correctly.
  • Square up any structure accurately.
  • Direct work of C1 and C2 employees.
  • Assist LC in daily paperwork and logging.
  • Assemble stairs.
  • Install all door hardware.
  • Trim windows and doors.

PREREQUISITE EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 2 years related experience in the construction industry.
  • Effective in prioritizing work and following through on commitments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Displays a positive, upbeat attitude.
  • Dependable, reliable, and possesses a strong work ethic.
  • Current and valid motor vehicle operator’s license.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • All physical requirements are performed during an 8–10 hour shift.
  • Wear personnel protective equipment as required: safety glasses, dust mask, gloves, safety harness above 4 ft, and regular ladder and tool checks.
  • Operate company vehicles and associated equipment safely.
  • Perform rigorous outdoor duties including walking, standing, climbing, stooping, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching, sitting, lifting, grasping, pushing, pulling.
  • Carry heavy objects; lift 100 pounds regularly.
  • Fine motor skills, coordination, range of motion, and grip strength.
  • Work in all climate conditions.
  • Be exposed to loud noise levels.
  • Use power tools, pneumatic tools, and hand tools: skill saws, miter saws, nail guns, Sawzall, general carpentry tools.
  • Work safely around heavy machinery and equipment.
  • Read, write, and understand English.
  • Interact effectively with others internally and externally.
  • Work with many personalities and in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Correctable vision and hearing.

Full‑Time:
Monday – Friday
