Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for financial reporting, complex accounting judgments, and tax-related support across multiple entities and industries. This role reviews and oversees accounting work, ensures compliance with GAAP, and partners with management, auditors, and tax advisors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes for multi-entity operations
• Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
• Establish and maintain internal controls and accounting policies
• Review job costing, budgets, and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports
• Oversee revenue recognition using Percentage of Completion (POC) or Completed Contract Method
• Review AIA G702/G703 progress billings and vendor pay applications
• Ensure proper allocation of labor, materials, subcontractors, and overhead

C. Inventory & Cost Accounting

• Oversee inventory valuation (FIFO/Average Cost)
• Review material cost analysis, freight allocation, and margin reporting
• Ensure accurate depreciation and inventory reserve calculations

D. Retail & E-Commerce Accounting

• Review POS and e-commerce revenue reconciliations
• Analyze margins, discounts, returns, and promotional impacts
• Oversee AR related to customer financing and installment plans
• Review land acquisition, development, and construction costs
• Ensure proper capitalization of soft and hard costs
• Account for construction draws, loan drawdowns, and interest capitalization
• Support investor capital tracking, distributions, and K-1 preparation

Tax & Compliance

• Support federal, state, and local tax filings
• Oversee subcontractor 1099 compliance and reporting
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong experience in construction accounting required
• Exposure to retail, inventory, or real estate accounting preferred
