Data Scientist, Data Analyst
Imagine what you could do here. At Apple, new ideas have a way of becoming great products, services, and customer experiences very quickly. Bring passion and dedication to your job and there's no telling what you could accomplish. Apple’s Market Research and Analytics team, part of Worldwide Product Marketing, is looking for a survey data analyst to provide critical customer insights that will shape our product and marketing strategies.
We’re looking for a practitioner who is an expert in analytics and data science, understands innovative research methodologies, and has extensive experience translating complex data into clear business insights. If you have a passion for understanding consumer behavior and a proven track record of using data to solve business problems, we want to hear from you.
We're looking for a Research Manager to lead our team's efforts to understand where consumer expectations and behaviors around AI assistants are heading. You'll own the full lifecycle of AI research — from designing use case evaluations, identifying white space opportunities to understanding how people navigate a world with multiple, overlapping AI assistants (system-level assistants, in-app assistants, and third-party agents). This is a highly visible, cross-functional role sitting at the intersection of research rigor, product strategy, and consumer insight.
Responsibilities- Design and run blind, statistically sound evaluations benchmarking AI products/models, build repeatable frameworks and human-eval pipelines that scale across product areas
- Design studies to identify white space opportunities by synthesizing data from primary and syndicated research
- Study how consumers behave and form mental models in a multi-assistant world
- 10+ years of experience in market research, competitive intelligence, UX/product research, or applied ML evaluation
- Demonstrated experience designing rigorous comparative/blind evaluation studies (human evals, A/B or preference testing, or benchmark suite design)
- Experience researching consumer behavior around emerging tech/AI products, including mental models, adoption, trust, and habit formation
- Strong quantitative literacy, including statistical significance, sampling methodology, and survey design, and the ability to synthesize technical and qualitative findings into executive-ready narratives
- Strong understanding of the AI assistant/agent landscape (system assistants, in-app assistants, chat/voice interfaces)
- Track record of cross-functional partnership with product, ML/research, design, and legal/compliance stakeholders
- Background researching multi-agent or multi-surface user experiences (e.g., voice + app + wearable)
- Experience running mixed-methods studies combining behavioral/telemetry data with qualitative research
- Prior experience working in consumer AI products is a plus
