Summary
A reputable general contractor is seeking a Project Engineer to support a growing portfolio of commercial, tenant improvement, retail, multifamily, and ground‑up construction projects. This role provides the opportunity to work alongside experienced Project Managers and Superintendents on complex builds while managing documentation, coordination, and scheduling from preconstruction through closeout.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and eager to grow within a dynamic and fast‑paced commercial construction environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support the project team through all construction phases—preconstruction, procurement, coordination, and closeout
- Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and material tracking logs
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure project goals are met
- Assist in creating and updating schedules while maintaining progress documentation in real time
- Track long‑lead materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and installation
- Participate in onsite coordination, site walks, and progress meetings
- Support field teams in managing safety, quality, and productivity standards
- Organize project closeout materials including O&M manuals, as‑builts, and warranties
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
- 2–5 years of experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager in commercial construction
- Experience working on tenant improvement, retail, multifamily, ground‑up, or healthcare/OSHPD projects
- Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management and attention to detail
- Knowledge of OSHPD/HCAI compliance, public works documentation, or multifamily sequencing
- Exposure to design‑build or CMAR delivery methods
- Previous involvement with high‑end interiors, hospitality, or retail environments
