High School Biology and Chemistry Tutor

Overview

Position Overview We are seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable High School Biology and Chemistry Tutor to join our dynamic academic team. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in the sciences and proven success teaching one or more of the following subjects:

• Biology:
  General Biology, AP Biology
• Chemistry:
  General Chemistry, AP Chemistry
• Environmental Science:
  Environmental Studies, AP Environmental Science

We are looking for educators who are not only subject-matter experts, but who are also committed to building a student-centered classroom that sparks curiosity, fosters inquiry, and inspires a love for scientific exploration.

• Deliver Engaging Lessons:
  Plan and teach rigorous, standards-aligned lessons that build scientific knowledge, analytical skills, and real-world application.
• Foster a Supportive Culture:
  Create a respectful, collaborative classroom environment that encourages participation, curiosity, and teamwork.
• Differentiate Instruction:
  Adapt lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners, including English language learners and students with special needs.
• Assess & Provide Feedback:
  Use varied assessment strategies to monitor progress and provide constructive, timely feedback to support student growth.
• Maintain Academic Focus:
  Ensure classrooms are well-structured, organized, and conducive to active learning and responsibility.

• Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field or Education (Master’s preferred).
• Secondary teaching credential or subject certification preferred but not required.
• At least 2 years of high school teaching or tutoring experience.
