** Description*
* In this hands-on role, you will develop test methods to investigate the underlying physical effects of optical sensors systems. You will collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team on novel optical technology prototypes. You will take advantage of your experimental and data analysis skills and your comprehensive understanding of optical science.
** Minimum Qualifications*
* + BS degree in Optics, Physics, Applied Physics, EE, or a related field
+ Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and testing free-space optical systems
+ Programming experience using MATLAB, Python, or similar tools
** Preferred Qualifications*
* + MS or PhD in Physics, Applied Physics, Optics, EE, or a related field
+ Theoretical understanding and experimental background in optical physics
+ Understanding of semiconductor laser sources, photodetectors, and optical measurement techniques
+ Proficiency with optical simulation tools and techniques, including sequential and non-sequential ray tracing software
+ Experience interfacing and automating control of optical-lab instruments
+ Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to work well in a multidisciplinary engineering team environment
