Introduction:
We are seeking a highly motivated CAE Engineer with expertise in non-linear static and dynamic Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to support the design and development of high-volume consumer electronic products. This role will focus on structural, thermomechanical, and heat transfer simulations while collaborating cross-functionally to drive robust, optimized designs from concept through production.
Required Skills & Qualifications:- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- 3 years of hands-on FEA experience in a high-volume consumer electronics environment.
- Strong understanding of material modeling and multiphysics simulation.
- Experience with model calibration, verification, and validation using physical test data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry.
Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:- Experience with fracture mechanics, adhesive material modeling, electromagnetic analysis, acoustics, and CFD.
- Proficiency in MATLAB and Python for data analysis and automation.
- Experience developing Abaqus user subroutines (UMAT/VUMAT or similar).
- Perform non-linear static and dynamic FEA using tools such as Abaqus, Ansys, or equivalent CAE software.
- Develop and execute structural, thermomechanical, and heat transfer models to support product development.
- Conduct advanced multiphysics simulations, including fracture mechanics and material modeling.
- Model complex material behaviors including polymers, elastomers, soft adhesives, and brittle materials.
- Support design optimization through simulation-driven insights and trade-off studies.
- Correlate and validate simulation models through physical testing, calibration, and verification activities.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical design, materials, reliability, and manufacturing teams.
- Communicate simulation findings clearly to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.
- Work with external vendors to support testing and model validation as needed.
