Description

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain - and we're looking for talented people who want to help.

You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

The Supply Chain PLM will drive hardware qualification activities, conduct NUDD reviews, own category SKU optimization, manage sustaining BOM configurations and lifecycle status changes, lead coordinate and execute last time buy and EOL plans, and partner with Sourcing, Supply Chain and engineering counterparts to ensure continuity of supply through optimal product lifecycle management.

* Drive qualification of second source or new revision hardware with rack integration partners as well as internal network engineering teams

* Create and report out on qualification status and any risks to meeting qualification timeline

* Conduct New Unique Difficult Different (NUDD) review of second source components

* Align new hardware feature requirements from internal network engineering teams and hardware development engineering teams

* Rationalize SKU portfolio to avoid redundant SKUs while ensuring optimal multi-source coverage

* Create and align end of life and last time buy plans for SKUs that are phasing out

* Develop subject matter expertise in the category of networking hardware you manage to advise engineering, sourcing and supply chain counterparts on optimal lifecycle strategies

* Influence business partners, suppliers, and executive leaders to achieve product lifecycle management goals

Key job responsibilities

* Collect requirements for component qualification in existing racks

* Ensures component multi-sourcing (fungibility) at rack level

* Ensure BOM changes are done at the correct level, considering fungibility and functionality criteria

* Creating CRs, maintaining component lifecycle in Agile, and existing rack BOM changes

* SKU proliferation management, limiting unnecessary component redundancy in the supply chain

* Responsible to communicate with customers when a component is going EOL

* Promote the removal of EOL (End of Life) components from BOM and the migration to new technologies

* Own component E&O mitigation of material that has not reached the Data Center (E&O of DC inventory is owned by Network Supply Supportability - Transitions team). Total component E&O is jointly owned by both teams

* Orchestrate supply and demand component generation change
