Position: Mechanical Engineer (Fulltime, Onsite Interview)

Maxonic maintains a close and long-term relationship with our direct client. In support of their needs, we are looking for:

Mechanical Engineer (sheet metal, MIM, CNC, and plastics design and manufacturing processes)

Must Have
  • B.S. Mechanical Engineering degree and 3+ years work experience in a technical setting.
  • Ability to understand complex mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience with sheet metal, MIM, CNC, and plastics design and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiar with statistical process control as it relates to part tolerances and assembly process (CP, CPK, tolerance analysis, etc.)
Responsibilities
  • Prioritize, delegate, and supervise all engineer’s activities and deliverables.
  • Technical interface for customer team in Cupertino; present technical documents and discuss design solutions.
  • Identify and communicate effectively with other managers and stakeholders including the factory engineering/manufacturing teams and our customers to share priorities and goals.
  • Identify, highlight, and drive priorities that are not always fully defined.
  • Provide input in strategic technical decisions and solutions when needed.
  • Coordinate and support customer visits to the factory and ensure all discussion topics are covered efficiently and effectively.
  • Be available as needed to assist customers and colleagues even outside of normal business hours.
  • Travel internationally (primarily to China) 4-8 times per year to assist with customer visits/build activities.
Qualifications
  • B.S. Mechanical Engineering degree and 3+ years work experience in a technical setting.
  • Ability to understand complex mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience with sheet metal, MIM, CNC, and plastics design and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiar with statistical process control as it relates to part tolerances and assembly process (CP, CPK, tolerance analysis, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering part and assembly drawings.
  • Computer skills should include Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel; familiarity with MacOS desired.
  • Very well organized, both in the digital world and the real world.
  • Strong English speaking and writing skills. Comfortable in communicating with all levels of employees and management.
  • [Desired] Experience in product development of high-volume production products/components (design and/or manufacturing emphasis)
  • [Desired] Experience and/or knowledge of automated assembly processes
  • [Desired] Mandarin speaking and/or experience traveling in China.
  • [Desired] Experience working with factories in China.
  • [Desired] Enjoys working with people of diverse backgrounds and personalities.
