Mixed-Signal Behavioral Modeling Engineer

We are seeking a Mixed-Signal Behavioral Modeling Engineer to model complex custom circuits for verifying system-level functionality and performance. The role involves collaboration across design and verification teams to develop System Verilog functional models that incorporate non-idealities, analyze data (Python/MATLAB) for model fitting, and evaluate model performance through simulations and formal verification. You will contribute to modeling methodology, functional coverage, and modeling flows within state-of-the-art mixed-signal systems used in Apple’s SoCs.

Responsibilities include writing functional models of custom mixed-signal circuits in System Verilog with appropriate detail, collaborating with circuit design teams to understand circuit functionality, and with DV teams to integrate hooks for verification. You will analyze circuit data for model fitting, profile model performance, run simulations and formal equivalence checks to ensure model accuracy, and work with domain experts to enhance methodologies and tooling for identifying issues in custom circuits.

• BS degree in a technical discipline with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

• Strong knowledge of digital logic gates, clocking, and state elements
• Experience writing behavioral code in System Verilog
• Solid understanding of logic and behavioral simulations
• Ability to read custom circuit schematics and understand functionality
• Familiarity with mixed-signal blocks (PLLs/DLLs/SERDES/Sensors/Data-converters) and their functionality
• Understanding of SPICE simulations and System Verilog/SPICE co-simulations
• Understanding of timing in synchronous digital logic
• Ability to write automation scripts in PERL/Python
• Familiarity with digital signal processing and numerical analysis
• Familiarity with probability and statistics
