Keyjob responsibilities
- Own server power, having demonstrated results in power delivery for entire servers.
- Deep understanding of voltage regulators (VRs) and server‑level power distribution.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary engineers to design, develop, validate, and launch large‑scale power components used in our servers.
- Provide leadership for how power is delivered in our servers, continuously improving a world‑class customer experience.
- Seek ways to improve performance, quality, and cost in a fast‑paced, intellectually challenging environment.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform, trusted by startups to Global 500 companies. The Board Core Design Team develops core hardware capabilities that enable AWS to remain the leading cloud provider.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in server power system design.
- 7+ years of experience with analog power electronics, power supply circuitry, and circuit protection.
- 7+ years of experience in developing power component functional specifications, design verification plans, root‑cause analysis, and resolution.
- Master's degree in Power Electronics Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in server power for cloud, enterprise, or other large‑scale applications.
- Strong expertise in DC‑DC switch‑mode power supplies, circuit protection, and multi‑phase CPU/memory VRs on motherboards.
- Experience with I2C, PMBUS, SVID, sensors, and monitoring.
- Experience guiding and reviewing PCB designs with Allegro, CAM
350, or equivalent. - Experience developing detailed specifications, selection criteria, test plans, analyzing component reliability, and creating design flows.
- Strong organizational, planning, writing, and communication skills.
- Desire to work in a fast‑paced environment with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
- Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles.
- Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity.
Base salary: $ - $ USD annually (location: Cupertino, CA). Compensation includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation depends on experience, qualifications, and location.
