Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Field Engineer - Solar EPC (California & Texas)

BRKT Energy is a rapidly expanding Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firm focused on delivering high-performance solar photovoltaic (PV) and integrated energy storage solutions across the United States. With U.S. operations headquartered in Houston, Texas, and a key branch in California, the company leverages over 12 years of international experience and more than 200 MW of installed solar capacity in demanding markets.

BRKT Energy provides end-to-end clean energy solutions, including commercial and industrial solar, utility‑scale EPC projects, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). The team combines global EPC expertise with strict adherence to local standards such as NEC and CSLB, aiming to drive the sustainable energy transition in the U.S. while delivering strong performance and measurable ROI for partners.

Role Description

The Field Engineer – Solar EPC will work on‑site full time, based in CA, with regular travel to project sites in Texas as needed. This role supports construction, commissioning, and performance of commercial, industrial, and utility‑scale solar and storage projects. The Field Engineer will manage the full acceptance process from start to finish, including AHJ inspections, utility interconnection requirements, and final sign-off.

Responsibilities include conducting field inspections, verifying installation quality against designs and codes, and performing hands‑on troubleshooting of PV and BESS systems. The Field Engineer will coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors, provide technical support during installation and startup, and document field activities, test results, and as‑built conditions. Daily responsibilities also involve monitoring safety compliance, assisting with punch‑list resolution, and communicating project status and technical issues clearly to internal teams and clients.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of field experience in EPC installation, with direct, hands‑on experience managing acceptance/inspection processes (AHJ approvals, utility interconnection, final sign-off)
  • Strong knowledge of solar PV components, inverters, BESS technologies, electrical systems, and applicable codes (NEC, local AHJ requirements, CA/TX-specific regulations)
  • Candidates should possess strong troubleshooting and technical support skills for solar PV and energy storage systems
  • Effective communication skills and field service experience working with site crews, subcontractors, and clients
  • Solid project management capabilities to support scheduling, coordination, and documentation of field activities
  • Relevant qualifications include a degree or diploma in electrical, mechanical, or renewable energy engineering, or equivalent field experience
  • Additional beneficial skills: familiarity with CAD or design review, use of test equipment (multimeters, IV curve tracers), and safety best practices
  • Ability to work on‑site, adapt to changing field conditions, travel to Texas project sites when needed, and maintain a safety‑first mindset is essential
