Systems Engineer, Hardware Engineer
Do you want to design and build Amazon’s leading AI/ML hardware using Annapurna’s custom‑developed silicon? The Annapurna Hardware Engineering team is looking for Hardware Design Engineers for our System Integration team. You will be a rack lead engineer responsible for one of Annapurna’s products. As a Hardware Designer in this team, you will own server and rack design, from concept to production, for a generation of AI/ML platforms.
You’ll be responsible for the entire design cycle, from creating specifications to implementation of boards through our ODM partners. You will own the integration of the entire rack using hardware developed by our team, other teams within Amazon or from industry partners. You will own system bring up and create operational flows to place this hardware into production at a scale that few experience.
The ideal candidate for this role has experience with server development, PCBA development and a strong background in computer architecture. You will partner with other hardware design engineers as well as system, firmware and software developers to deliver world‑class products under tight deadlines.

Keyjob responsibilities
You will work closely with internal design teams throughout AWS as well as with Design Partner teams worldwide to produce world‑class server and rack products. You will own the integration of multiple bespoke components developed by internal Annapurna Labs teams and the integration of the rack into AWS's infrastructure.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures
- 5+ years of relevant work experience with complex accelerator, storage or network server designs.
- 3+ years of development experience in hardware/firmware. Proven ability to debug PCIe, memory or storage subsystems.
- Working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production spanning internal hardware, firmware and software teams as well as external design partners.
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Experience in RTL coding and debugging, as well as performance, power, area analysis and trade‑offs
- Experience with modern ASIC/FPGA design and verification tools
- Experience with SOC bring‑up and post‑silicon validation

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
