Amazon Web Services’ Network Products Development team is looking for experienced hardware engineering professionals to help build our next generation networking platforms. The right candidate will play a key role in the delivery of our next generation Ethernet switching platforms for our world class data centers. Strong experience in modular chassis based enterprise/carrier products is a must.
The ideal candidate is an experienced program manager with Ethernet networking experience in the areas of terabit switch fabrics, 10/40/100 gigabit interfaces, embedded CPU subsystems, and network processors. Previous experience in managing hardware programs with overseas ODM/JDM partners is a must. Experience both in development and manufacturing is required, and experience with supporting product life cycle after production release is a plus.
This includes supply chain support, second source component qualification, and fleet support.
- Program Ownership:
Lead full lifecycle program management for networking hardware products - from architecture definition and design reviews through EVT/DVT/PVT validation, qualification, mass production ramp, and post lifecycle support. - Cross-Functional Leadership:
Drive alignment across hardware engineering, external ASIC/silicon teams, firmware/software, supply chain, manufacturing, and data center operations to ensure high quality, on-time, on-budget delivery. - Risk Management:
Proactively identify technical, schedule, and supply chain risks, develop mitigation strategies and elevate to leadership as needed. - Milestone & Schedule Management:
Define and maintain detailed program schedules, track milestones, manage dependencies, and communicate status to hardware management, senior leadership and stakeholders. - Vendor & ODM Management:
Partner with ODMs, contract manufacturers, and component suppliers to manage quality, delivery, and cost. - Process Improvement:
Identify gaps in existing Amazon processes and drive improvements to increase efficiency, quality, and predictability across the organization.
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams
- Experience managing programs across cross‑functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross‑functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPIs/SLA’s used to drive multi‑million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
