As a Technical Support Engineer at OPT, you will play a pivotal role in bridging customer needs with our cutting-edge vision inspection technologies. You will be responsible for understanding customer technical requirements, conducting pre‑sales feasibility studies, and providing end‑to‑end support—from initial consultation to post‑sales troubleshooting. Your expertise will ensure our clients receive tailored, high‑performance solutions that maximize their operational potential.
Key Responsibilities- Pre‑Sales
Collaboration:
Work closely with the Sales Team throughout the sales cycle to design and recommend optimal vision proposals, including cameras, lighting, optics, software, etc. - Technical Demonstrations:
Design and execute in‑lab tests, customer‑site demonstrations, and presentations at trade shows, seminars, and industry events to showcase OPT’s capabilities. - Post‑Sales Support:
Provide ongoing technical support to existing customers using tools like CRM, email, phone, and MS Teams. Troubleshoot issues on‑site and deliver timely, effective resolutions. - Customer Engagement:
Travel to customer sites across the designated territory for pre and post‑sales visits, ensuring seamless implementation and fostering long‑term relationships. - Travel Requirements:
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, or a related field. - Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in machine vision, industrial automation, technical support, or field service engineering. Applications from recent graduates majoring in related fields will also be considered. - Technical
Skills:
Hands‑on experience with industrial cameras, vision lighting, lenses, and vision software. Familiarity with OPT products is a plus. - Mindset:
Customer‑oriented with a proactive, responsible, and solution‑driven attitude. - Collaboration:
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast‑paced environment. - Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English (both written and spoken).
