GeneralWork Activities
- Create strategic sourcing plans for a business unit, department, or project to satisfy internal clients.
- Advise business partners to reduce costs through supply base efficiency, economies of scale, and other opportunities.
- Own the analysis of spending patterns for savings opportunities and become a subject matter expert for the verticals.
- Ensure priorities are handled effectively by modifying plans and actions in your area of accountability.
- Lead sourcing engagements and teams in opportunity identification and RFIs.
- Develop negotiation strategies to deliver against business objectives and achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers.
- Analyze and determine opportunities to leverage and consolidate the supply base using system-level tools and techniques.
- Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models.
- Review and approve suppliers for bid processes, ensuring the best possible supply base.
- Negotiate and implement supplier agreements/contracts with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Influence suppliers’ manufacturing processes, technology decisions, and policies to benefit both organizations.
- Manage supplier relationships and serve as the primary business contact for key suppliers.
- Travel: approximately 20%.
You will work closely with business partners to manage the Networking Silicon business on a day-to-day basis, while also focusing on mid- and long-term technology sourcing strategies. You will partner with hardware engineering teams to devise sourcing and technology development plans for next-generation networking hardware. This includes interactions with hardware development, network design and deployment engineering, finance, legal, and other stakeholders.
You will manage working and executive-level supplier relationships with multiple silicon suppliers, focusing on roadmap planning and execution against a technology migration strategy, and building supplier relationships and architecting agreements to support AWS’ growing network.
The Networking team is composed of category managers, supply chain managers, and product lifecycle managers who oversee a broad base of networking suppliers and internal Amazon initiatives that help build the AWS cloud. They drive supply continuity, technology development, cost optimization, and system development for networking categories such as switches, optics, cables, DWDM, branded OEM, and strategic silicon. The team is distributed across multiple regional hubs in the United States and works globally with suppliers and business partners.
BenefitsThe base salary range for this position is $ – $ USD annually.
