Optical Administrator

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service, fostering customer retention and promoting associate/doctor satisfaction.
• Drive profitable store sales using effective retail sales skills and the Total Customer Experience Model.
• Build professional relationships with Associates, Hosts, and Doctors.
• Fill ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions and fit and adapt lenses and frames: evaluate the prescription with the customer's visual requirements; recommend specific lenses, lens coatings, and frames; assist customers in selecting frames and coordinate frames with optical measurements and prescription; conduct bridge, eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and optical centers measurements using appropriate tools.
• Ensure high quality through accurate measurements, correct pricing, and realistic delivery time quotes.
• Maximize Managed Vision Care relationships and sales opportunities, including effective plan administration, improvements in average transaction, and locally initiated plans.
• Assist with timely implementation of approved marketing programs.
• Ensure positive host relationships through participation, support, and satisfaction, measured by Patient Satisfaction Surveys.
• Other duties as assigned by the Optical Manager.

• Applicable State licensure or certification by a nationally recognized optician association as an optician (if required by state).
• Ability to sell through the use of sales skills and accountability for sales results.
• Experience and results with a retail or customer service establishment.
• Ability to provide enthusiastic and concise communication to meet/exceed customer expectations and foster positive and results‑oriented associate, doctor, and host relationships.
• Success in store merchandising and attention to detail.
• Minimum of 1‑2 years of experience in a related field.

Salary Ranges: $23.00 - $34.77. Compensation may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job‑related factors permitted by law. The role may include eligible bonuses and commissions. VSP Vision benefits are available.
