Web Kit Performance Infrastructure Engineer

DescriptionOur Performance Infrastructure team builds the tooling and infrastructure that enables Web Kit engineers to monitor performance metrics and investigate regressions. As Web Kit evolves, our infrastructure provides the visibility needed to detect and diagnose performance changes. We're looking for an engineer to evolve our performance monitoring and testing infrastructure. You'll own and improve the systems that power our performance testing and analysis workflows, and your work will directly impact how Web Kit engineers detect and diagnose regressions.
Responsibilities- Own and maintain a performance monitoring dashboard that tracks Web Kit performance metrics and manages A/B testing.
- Maintain and enhance tools for performance tracking and A/B testing.
- Develop and improve benchmarking systems and measurement tools.
- Integrate performance tools with continuous integration systems.
- Build automation to streamline performance investigation workflows.
- Proficiency in Python or similar languages.
- Experience with front-end and back-end web development.
- Proficiency in Unix-based systems, ideally macOS.
- Familiarity with performance monitoring tools.
- Experience with performance analysis or benchmark design.
- Understanding of networking concepts.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
- Experience working with HTTP traffic, proxies, or network debugging tools.
- In-depth experience with front-end and back-end development.
- Strong debugging skills with ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-layered systems.
- Experience with continuous integration.
- Knowledge of UI/UX design principles.
- Experience with Docker and containerization.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
