Software Development Engineer, Annapurna Labs, Trainium Collectives

We are seeking an experienced engineer to work on distributed AI/ML systems, focusing on collective operations that enable AI to scale across multiple accelerators and servers. The stack is primarily C/C++ and low‑level, so solid knowledge of Linux, kernels, and high‑performance code is essential. Experience with embedded systems, high‑speed networking, or HPC interconnects is highly valued.

If you enjoy solving hard problems, working with HPC and ML customers, iterating fast, and delivering meaningful solutions at scale, this role places you on the forefront of AI/ML. You will build features for the largest clusters, customers, and AI models.

• Design, develop, and maintain distributed AI/ML collective operation components.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, hardware, RTL engineers, scientists, and architects across the organization.
• Mentor junior engineers while receiving senior mentorship.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and performance profiling.
• Work with networking solutions for ML and HPC workloads on AWS.
• Drive fast iteration cycles while ensuring high reliability and scalability.

• 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture experience for new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.

The base salary range for this position is USD – per year. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined by experience, qualifications, and location.
