Embedded Software Development Engineer II, Baseboard Management Controller

Overview

Embedded Software Development engineer to build and own the server related firmware. As an embedded software development engineer in this team, you will work with a team of world-class software developers who thrive on creating innovative, scalable solutions for real-world data center infrastructure problems. You will be part of development efforts to build, validate, and support firmware in diverse technology domains from embedded software to large-scale distributed software systems, using proprietary and open source technologies.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain.

• Server Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) Software
• Scripting language development
• Data Center Operation Support
• Linux driver development

Work with a variety of job roles (SDEs, SDETs, Hardware Engineers, TPMs, Managers, Principals) and groups (AWS Hardware Engineering, EC2, other AWS services) through server conception, test, launch, and operations.

The Hardware Engineering AI / ML development team is a group of engineers and technical program managers responsible for launching hardware in the fleet. Located in Seattle, Cupertino and Austin, we work on programs with global development teams. Our servers are located in datacenters globally.

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• 2+ years of embedded firmware development experience
• Experience debugging, profiling, and implementing best software engineering practices in large-scale systems
• Knowledge of system performance, memory management, and parallel computing principles

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• 3+ years of embedded firmware development experience
• Master's degree or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units.
