Senior Software Engineer:
Agentic Systems, Instructional Products

Cupertino, California, United States Software and Services

Join a passionate, dynamic team responsible for creating experiences that enable users to get help with—and discover all the things they love about—their Apple products. The Instructional Products organization builds applications, frameworks, services, and content systems that power instructional experiences across Apple platforms for hundreds of millions of users. Join us in shaping the future of engineering efficiency.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who combines deep backend and automation expertise with a demonstrated ability to integrate AI-driven agents into complex content and engineering ecosystems. This role will help evolve how our teams build software and how instructional content is created, validated, and delivered at scale.

Description

In this role, you will design and build intelligent tooling and automation that improves both engineering productivity and content operations across Instructional Products. You’ll work across applications, frameworks, services, and content platforms to identify opportunities where AI-powered workflows can meaningfully improve quality, efficiency, and scalability. You will prototype and product ionize systems that leverage agentic coding workflows, automation pipelines, and AI-driven content processing to streamline development and publishing processes.

Success in this role requires strong engineering fundamentals, systems thinking, and the ability to translate emerging technologies into reliable tools used by multiple teams. This position combines hands‑on software development with technical leadership, partnering closely with engineering, quality, design, and content teams to modernize workflows while maintaining Apple’s high standards for craftsmanship and user experience.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 5 or more years of professional software engineering experience delivering production systems.
  • Hands‑on experience using agentic systems to accelerate software development and/or operational workflows.
  • Experience building modern web applications, APIs, or backend services.
  • Experience developing automation systems, developer tooling, or workflow platforms.
  • Experience designing scalable solutions that integrate across multiple systems and teams.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non‑technical partners.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment with evolving technical priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building tools that automate or enhance content creation, publishing, localization, or validation workflows.
  • Familiarity with LLM‑powered systems, retrieval pipelines, or structured content transformation workflows.
  • Experience building internal platforms used by engineers, writers, or operational teams.
  • Background in developer experience (Dev Ex), CI/CD systems, or large‑scale automation initiatives.
  • Passion for improving both engineering and content quality through intelligent tooling.
