Role OverviewU.S. Bank is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to the success of our technology initiatives as part of our digital transformation journey. The candidate will be responsible for the analysis, design, testing, development, and maintenance of best‑in‑class software experiences, working in an agile environment and adhering to Dev Ops principles.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, operate, and maintain software products.
- Take full‑stack ownership by consistently writing production‑ready and testable code.
- Apply optimal design principles, consider scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Analyze failures, propose design changes, and encourage operational improvements.
- Make sound design and coding decisions with customer experience in mind.
- Review feedback from code reviews, apply changes, and conduct own reviews to guide best practices.
- Ensure all product development follows compliance and security best practices.
- Embed reliability engineering standards into development processes.
- Identify emerging technology opportunities and contribute to best practices for technology transformation.
- Maintain cultural values of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Prioritize, size, and communicate blockers and delays to avoid escalation.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Adept with agile software development lifecycle and Dev Ops principles.
- Good understanding of algorithms and data structures.
- Excellent communication skills to work with engineers, product owners, scrum masters, vendors, and customers.
- Effective problem‑solving and analytical skills.
** This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.**
