This vision is realized through the implementation of technical solutions, as well as collaborative efforts to address challenges such as account fraud, spam, service integrity, and regulatory standards enforcement. The Tools & Automation Engineering team plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our products and services.

They establish a culture of quality by refining quality assurance processes, enforcing quality and release standards, and best practices. The team develops testing tools and frameworks that empower the organization to deliver high quality applications fast and with confidence.

This role encompasses all aspects of software quality assurance, from developing test strategies and plans to creating test automation tools and frameworks that facilitate fast, reliable, and effective testing of software applications. You’ll work in a highly cross‑functional environment to support quality assurance needs for Trust & Safety platforms and solutions that include Apple operating system frameworks, machine learning (ML), and data platforms, as well as web server applications.

These solutions safeguard the Apple ecosystem from fraud and abuse while ensuring compliance with global regulatory standards.

• Build test strategies and plans for quality assurance of data, web, ML, and mobile applications.
• Develop software tests (e.g., unit, integration, acceptance, performance) to ensure bug‑free software that meets specifications.
• Enable test execution in the delivery pipeline to reduce feedback loops and accelerate time to market.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to create end‑to‑end testing solutions for product features and releases.
• Develop tools and frameworks to support new automation use cases and improve testing capabilities.
• Drive quality initiatives and promote software testing best practices.
• Stay updated on new testing tools and strategies, evaluating them for potential use in projects.

• Proficient in Python, Swift, Scala or Java.
• Experience in quality assurance of iOS, macOS, vision
  
  OS, or watch
  
  OS applications
• Experience with XCTest, XCUITest frameworks
• Ability to triage problems, prioritize tasks, and propose effective solutions.
• Well‑developed organizational and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Experience in machine learning platform development or testing
• Experience with container and cloud technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
• Experience with data technologies including Hadoop, Kafka, Cassandra, Apache Spark, and Apache Flink.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $141,800 and $258,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
