Identity and Access Management team is responsible for creating a secure, reliable and seamless Identity Management Platform for all the Postman users. This is the team behind authenticating and authorizing every request that reaches Postman space. Postman’s Identity Interface is the gateway to access a plethora of Postman’s services while enabling users to connect with peers to collaboratively perform work.
The OpportunityWe are looking for an exceptional Engineering Manager to build the next generation of our Identity Enterprise platform. You will lead multiple teams within Identity Engineering, designing, implementing, and running critical tier 0 services for the company.
The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with attention to detail and a relentless drive for quality, balancing short‑term needs with long‑term objectives, building and motivating high‑performing teams, and being a generous listener to teammates and peers alike.

This role will be based out of our Bay Area office - no remote.
What You’ll Do- Understand the broader vision of Postman and onboard the team to work towards achieving it collaboratively, keeping the highest engineering standards.
- Identify and own end‑to‑end problem space (product features, end‑user experience, technology and business), provide multi‑quarter roadmaps to the team, embrace constraints and prioritize effectively.
- Foster the growth and advancement of the team by engaging in discussions with team members regarding career development, ensuring their progression aligns with the long‑term vision and broader business requirements.
- Comprehend and highlight the critical importance to the business, define and take ownership of the roadmap, project milestones, and effectively communicate key information to stakeholders.
- Plan and lead the IAM standard initiatives and protocols such as OAuth
2.0, OIDC, SCIM, SAML and related role engineering; implement standardized formats meeting cross‑functional RBAC needs for the platform. - Empower the product with seamless, secure and reliable methods of customer onboarding by enabling broader integration areas of user and team management.
- 8+ years of experience developing complex, distributed software applications at Postman’s scale.
- 4+ years of experience in people management and building cohesive teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills and focus on team orientation. Ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and written) with a wide range of people.
- Has a point of view and is comfortable with prior experience in collaborating and respectfully challenging other stakeholders.
- Good understanding of auth products, protocols and methods (OAuth, SAML, OIDC, etc.).
- Previous experience with User/Team management, role engineering, access control.
The role is based in the greater San Francisco area, and the reasonably estimated salary for this role ranges from $ to $ plus a competitive equity package.
