• Lead technical initiatives across multiple engineering teams, setting standards for best practices and operational excellence.
• Design technology solutions and architectures that address complex business or technical problems related to server system testability, reliability, and diagnosis.
• Own system-level risks and limitations, reducing complexity and enabling greater agility for own and partner teams.
• Collaborate with managers and team leaders to develop technical strategy and influence Technical Program Managers and Product Managers.
• Resolve architectural deficiencies and improve processes to broaden innovation across teams.
• Lead architecture, design, operations, and post‑incident review processes, and actively participate in reviews for other teams.
• Deliver solutions using the appropriate combination of hardware, software, system design, and operations, partnering with experts when necessary.
• Effectively communicate technical designs and decisions in writing, producing code, designs, documentation, and runbooks that are adopted and maintained by others.
• Actively hire, coach, and mentor teammates, supporting inclusive promotion and technical assessment processes.
• Provide perspective on current technology choices and guide future strategy, identifying opportunities that solve tactical problems with lasting impact.
• Coordinate with SDEs, SDETs, TPMs, Managers, and Principals across AWS Hardware Engineering, EC2, and other AWS services to bring ideas from conception to launch and operations.
• Drive high‑quality and reliable design for AWS Accelerated server solutions, ensuring efficient operational planning, resiliency, agility, automation, and sustainable operations.

• 6+ years of programming experience in a modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, Power Shell, or Ruby.
• 5+ years of professional, non‑internship software development.
• 5+ years of designing or architecting systems for reliability and scaling.
• 4+ years of systems development in an IT or data‑center environment.
• 4+ years of deploying and operating in a Linux/Unix environment.
• 5+ years of systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvement.
• Experience leading the definition, build, and deployment of complex, high‑performance software solutions in production.

• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns throughout the full software/hardware/network development lifecycle—including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live‑site operations.
• Experience leading the development of complex software or computing infrastructure successfully delivered to customers.
• Experience working with managed ML/AI solutions.

Base Salary Range:  –  USD per year. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
