Embedded Software Development Engineer II, Baseboard Management Controller

We are looking for an Embedded Software Development Engineer to build and own server-related firmware. This role works with teams of software, hardware, network engineers, TPMs, managers, etc. across AWS to design, develop, validate, and support firmware in diverse technology domains, including embedded software and large-scale distributed systems.

• Server Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) Software development
• Scripting language development
• Data Center Operation Support
• Linux driver development

As an experienced Software Development Engineer, you will build and own GenAI server‑related firmware, collaborating with SDEs, SDETs, hardware engineers, TPMs, managers, and programs across AWS to deliver reliable firmware from conception through launch and operations.

The Hardware Engineering AI / ML development team is responsible for launching hardware fleet. The team is located in Seattle, Cupertino and Austin, working with global internal and external partners.

• 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
• 2+ years of embedded firmware development experience
• Experience debugging, profiling, implementing best software engineering practices in large-scale systems
• Knowledge of system performance, memory management, and parallel computing principles

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• 3+ years of embedded firmware development experience
• Master's degree or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is –  USD annually
