Impact Wind is seeking experienced and motivated Site Safety Professionals to support wind turbine installation, construction, maintenance, commissioning, and service projects.
The Site Safety Professional is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and supporting site-specific Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE/EHS) programs while ensuring compliance with Impact Wind policies, client requirements, applicable OSHA regulations, and industry best practices.
This position requires a strong field presence and the ability to work directly with site leadership, technicians, contractors, and other project personnel to identify hazards, reduce risk, reinforce safe work practices, and promote a positive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine field safety inspections, observations, audits, and site assessments.
- Identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, and potential hazards and assist site leadership in developing appropriate corrective actions.
- Participate in and/or review Job Safety Analyses (JSA's), Job Hazard Analyses (JHA's), risk assessments, and pre-task planning .
- Lead and participate in daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, pre-job briefings, and safety discussions.
- Monitor proper use, inspection, and maintenance of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) .
- Verify compliance with company safety procedures, client requirements, OSHA regulations, and applicable industry standards.
- Provide field coaching and guidance to employees, technicians, supervisors, and contractors regarding safe work practices.
- Support safety requirements associated with wind turbine erection, mechanical and electrical work, commissioning, service, and maintenance activities.
- Monitor work involving working at heights, fall protection, lifting and rigging, cranes, heavy equipment, electrical hazards, confined spaces, and other high-risk activities , as applicable.
- Deliver safety training, orientations, refresher training, toolbox talks, and other safety-related instruction.
- Support GWO-related refresher training and safety activities , as required.
- Participate in investigations involving incidents, injuries, property damage, equipment damage, and near misses.
- Assist with root-cause analysis, corrective action development, and follow-up verification as needed .
- Prepare and maintain accurate safety documentation, inspection reports, training records, incident reports, and other required project documentation.
- Communicate safety concerns, trends, and recommendations to project and company leadership.
- Work collaboratively with project management, site leadership, technicians, contractors, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Promote continuous improvement and help develop a strong, proactive safety culture throughout each project.
- Strong working knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS/HSE) principles and practices.
- Documented experience providing field-based construction, industrial, renewable-energy, or occupational safety oversight.
- Experience delivering occupational health and safety training, safety orientations, toolbox talks, and employee coaching.
