Associate Specialist, Patient Access

Job Overview

We are looking for a Patient Access Specialist to perform admitting duties for all patients admitted to the hospital at Ardent - Hillcrest Cushing in Cushing, OK. This onsite role pays $17.00 - $18.15 per hour based on experience.

• Assign accurate MRNs, complete medical necessity/compliance checks, and provide patient instructions.
• Collect insurance information, receive, and process physician orders.
• Use overlay tools and maintain excellent customer service measured by Press Ganey.
• Operate the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter‑office calls.
• Adhere to policies and provide compassionate customer service.
• Account for point‑of‑service goals and perform quality auditing and reporting.
• Pre‑register patient accounts, collecting demographic, insurance, and financial information.
• Explain consent for treatment forms, obtain signatures, and distribute education documents.
• Review insurance eligibility, enter benefit data, and support POS and billing processes.
• Screen medical necessity using ABN software and document accordingly.

• 1+ years of customer service experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have strong communication and organizational skills.
• Open to innovation and use of emerging technologies such as AI.

• CRCR certification within 9 months of hire (company paid).
