Maintenance Supervisor

In the U.S., HI-LEX operates under three divisions: HI-LEX America in Battle Creek, Michigan; HI-LEX Controls in Hudson, Litchfield, and Hazel Park, Michigan; and Daedong HI-LEX of America in Cusseta,Alabama. The company’s automotive center is in Rochester Hills, Michigan which consists of Finance, Sales, Engineering, Testing, Program Management, Human Resources, Purchasing and IT.Position Summary Promotes TPM (Total Predictive Maintenance) activities.

Troubleshoots both tooling and machine problems. Investigates and resolves production line, quality, tooling or machine design problems. Supervises, schedules and monitors the work of maintenance acres, schedules repair of manufacturing equipment, trains maintenance associates and orders capital equipment when needed.

Roles and Responsibilities Supervises, schedules and monitors the work of the maintenance crews to support assembly lines, plant facilities an grounds.

Recommends equipment to reduce or eliminate safety concerns relative to repetitive motion.

Works closely with both the Safety Manager and Training Manager.

Coordinates maintenance work actively with manufacturing personnel to ensure line efficiencies..Schedules the repair of equipment, orders and parts as needed.

Trains associates in maintenance procedures and enforces safety procedures.

Supervises the setup and assembly of new manufacturing lines.

Prepares work orders and reports as necessary.

Plans, organizes and allocates department resources to meet department and company goals.

Identifies and selects vendors from which to order equipment and recommends orders as necessary.

Monitors and controls the maintenance expenses within the department.

Promotes an associate relations environment consistent with long term management objectives.

Assists and participates in the in house Kaizen activities.

Develops, maintains and implements the TPM plan.

Education Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology or equivalent area, or Journeyman's card with relevant mechanical / electrical experience required.

Functional Experience Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.

Knowledge of spreadsheet software (Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets).Knowledge of presentation software (Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides).Knowledge of Auto Cad or similar drawing software.

Industry Experience3
-5 years experience in the automotive manufacturing environment is preferred.

Outstanding knowledge of continuous improvement performance and metrics and drivers.

Ability to communicate goals, consistently focus the team on objectives and performance, is bottom-line oriented, and is service-oriented to support the operational leaders in the business.

Required Skills.

Knowledge of SPC, Ergonomics, Safety, environmental law and building codes.

Physical Requirements Factory environment with noise from manufacturing processes.

On occasion lifts, carries , or moves objects weighing up to 50 pounds, daily up to 25 pounds.
