K-12 Substitute Teacher

Job Type: During the school year as needed

Salary: $115 per day for the first 25 days, $125 per day after day 25

Job Summary:

Substitute Teacher serves as a temporary replacement for regular classroom teachers during their absence, providing instruction and maintaining a structured learning environment in accordance with the district's educational policies. The substitute teacher ensures continuity of student learning and upholds classroom management practices while fostering a positive and engaging atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

* Implement lesson plans left by the regular teacher or develop appropriate classroom activities if lesson plans are unavailable.

* Maintain order in the classroom and manage student behavior following school policies.

* Deliver instruction in various subjects across grade levels, adapting teaching methods to meet student needs.

* Take attendance and document any student issues or notable classroom occurrences for the returning teacher.

* Provide students with necessary instructional support and guidance while promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.

* Communicate effectively with school staff, administrators, and students. ? Adhere to all district policies and procedures, including maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement).

* Bachelor's degree or active teaching license preferred but not required.

* Valid Ohio Substitute Teaching License (or ability to obtain one).

* Experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred.

* Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt to different learning environments.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to follow lesson plans and provide engaging instruction. Physical and Other Requirements:

* Ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift classroom materials.

* Flexibility to work on short notice in various school locations.

* Background check and fingerprinting required per Ohio state regulations.
