Minister for Service and Justice

Walsh Jesuit High School is seeking a minister for the Office of Mission and Identity to vision, develop, plan, and coordinate the school’s service and justice formation opportunities for students. Primary responsibilities include developing and overseeing Walsh Jesuit’s comprehensive Christian service and justice programs, experiences, retreats, and immersion trips through a lens of Ignatian spirituality rooted in our Jesuit, Catholic identity.

Reporting directly to the Director of Student Formation and Belonging, this minister serves on a team of 3–4 ministers to coordinate and lead service and justice initiatives while also supporting other aspects of student formation and belonging (e.g., retreats, belonging initiatives, prayer groups, sacraments, etc.) that the Office of Mission and Identity sponsors.

The work schedule for this 10+ month position generally mirrors the school’s academic calendar with the expectation that the director also will work approximately 15 days each summer. This summer work includes facilitating and serving as a chaperone on a student immersion trip, coordinating the school’s weekly ministry to people experiencing homelessness (Labre), and co-facilitation of retreat leader formation and the retreat for new students 1–2 weeks prior to the start of school.
