Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and versatile Family and Consumer Sciences (Fcs) Teacher to join our high school staff for the upcoming school year. The ideal candidate will prepare students for post-secondary success by teaching essential life skills, career readiness, and wellness. Our Fcs curriculum spans multiple modern Cte (Career and Technical Education) pathways, which may include Culinary Arts & Nutrition, Human Development & Family Studies, and Personal Finance.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Family and Consumer Sciences or Career and Technical Education;
Valid State Teaching Certificate/License with an endorsement in Family and Consumer Sciences (Grades 7-12 or K-12). Candidates eligible for a state-approved alternative or Cte industry-route teaching credential will be considered, provided they obtain full licensure within the state's designated timeline;
Prior high school teaching experience or student teaching in an Fcs/Cte environment is highly preferred. Industry experience in culinary, hospitality, or childcare is a plus;
Serv Safe Manager or Serv Safe Proctor certification, AAFcs Professional Certification, and First Aid/Cpr/Aed certification preferred;
Science of Reading Pathway Credential;
Acceptable report on required BCI/FBI background investigation and drug screening;
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate.
