Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy is a non-profit ministry dedicated to Educating and Cultivating Servants for Christ. We are a middle and senior high school committed to high academic standards. Our biblically integrated, college-preparatory curriculum is delivered by a dedicated staff of Christian professionals committed to teaching from a biblical worldview and philosophy. We are committed to providing our students with experiences that will foster in them a servant’s heart, including extra-curricular activities, inter-scholastic athletics, music, theater, short-term mission trips, and numerous service opportunities.

Job Summary:

Provide support by implementing the instructional programs designed by the primary teacher. Guide and motivate students to reach their full academic potential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Carefully follow and implement all lesson plans
  • Engage students in the day’s activities, with clear instructions and understanding of the lesson
  • Follow policies and procedures outlined in the Student/Parent Handbook and Faculty Handbook
  • Exercise open and respectful, and timely communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff
  • Manage student behavior and administer biblical discipline in accordance with outlined guidelines
  • Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and on the school campus that always aligns with the CVCA missional boundaries
  • Innovatively and appropriately bringing Chromebooks and other technologies into the classroom to amplify and accelerate student learning
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or commensurate experience
  • Appropriate Ohio Department of Education licensure
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
  • Work is typically performed in a conventional classroom environment.
  • Ability to handle frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and moving throughout the classroom

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, founded in 1968, is a private, college-preparatory, non-denominational Christian middle and high school that seeks to Educate and Cultivate Servants for Christ. Students meet rigorous admissions standards both academically and spiritually. CVCA’s 1,230 students, of whom 20% represent minority populations, come from a nine-county area in northeast Ohio. Our facilities include state-of-the‑art technology, seven science labs, Innovation Lab, six fine arts classrooms, a 31,000 square‑foot field house and competition gymnasium, a 700‑seat chapel/auditorium, and 70 acres of sports facilities, including a turf stadium and all‑weather track.
