Position Long Term Substitute - Structured Literacy Specialist

Assignment Dates 11/02/2026 - 01/25/2027

Grade Level and/or Subject Area Elementary

Certification/Licensure Required

• An appropriate, valid Ohio teacher license certified in elementary education recognized by the Department of Education and Workforce
• Reading Specialist certification or endorsement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in elementary education
• Master's degree in reading, literacy, or a related field
• Significant experience as a classroom teacher, particularly with a focus on reading instruction
• Experience providing evidence-based reading interventions to students individually or small groups
• Structured literacy program certifications (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System)
• Certification as a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) or Qualified Instructor (QI)
• Acceptable report on required BCII/FBI background investigation and drug screening
