The Aluminum Welder is responsible for fabricating and assembling aluminum components and products according to engineering drawings, work orders, and quality standards. This role supports production goals by performing high-quality welds, maintaining safety compliance, and ensuring efficient workflow in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform MIG and/or TIG welding on aluminum components according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and production drawings.
- Set up welding equipment, fixtures, and materials for production runs.
- Inspect welds to ensure quality and structural integrity.
- Operate fabrication equipment such as grinders, saws, and measuring tools.
- Maintain production schedules while meeting quality standards.
- Conduct minor maintenance and troubleshooting on welding equipment.
- Follow plant safety policies and maintain a clean work area.
- Work with supervisors and quality teams to resolve production issues.
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1–3 years of aluminum welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.
- Proficiency in MIG and/or TIG aluminum welding.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and weld symbols.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- Welding certification or technical training.
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma environments.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Problem-solving ability.
- Reliable attendance and teamwork mindset.
- Ability to meet production deadlines.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and handling materials.
- Ability to work in hot, noisy, or industrial environments.
- Manufacturing shop floor environment.
- Exposure to welding fumes, heat, and moving equipment.
- Required use of PPE including welding helmet, gloves, and protective clothing.
