Walsh Jesuit High School POSITION SUMMARY Walsh Jesuit High School is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to promote the health, safety, and well-being of students while supporting their ability to learn and thrive in a Catholic educational environment.

The School Nurse plays a vital role in fostering student wellness, managing health needs, responding to medical emergencies, and collaborating with families and faculty to ensure students receive appropriate care. The position provides comprehensive nursing services, promotes preventative health practices, and serves as a trusted health resource for students, families, and staff through a lens of Ignatian spirituality rooted in Walsh Jesuit's Catholic and Jesuit identity.

Reporting directly to the Assistant Principal of Discipline and Safety, the School Nurse provides quality healthcare services that support student success and the mission of Walsh Jesuit High School as a member of the school's Academic Administrative Team.

This is a 10+ month position. The work schedule generally follows the school's academic calendar. The School Nurse is expected to work all days that classes are in session, including staff training and retreat days, as well as preparatory time before and after classes begin and end in the fall and spring.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Student Health Services
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to students experiencing illness, injury, or other medical concerns.
• Assess student health needs and administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Manage care for students with chronic medical conditions and disabilities.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student health records.

Health Collaboration and Wellness
• Collaborate with parents, physicians, counselors, teachers, and administrators to develop and implement individualized student care plans.
• Conduct health screenings and monitor immunization compliance.
• Promote wellness and preventative health initiatives.
• Serve as a liaison between families, healthcare providers, and the school.

School Safety and Emergency Preparedness
• Respond to medical emergencies and support school emergency preparedness efforts.
• Coordinate and provide CPR, AED, and basic first aid training for faculty and staff.
• Maintain emergency medical supplies.
• Support school health and safety protocols.

Faith Formation
• Embrace, model, and support Catholic and Christian values and spiritual formation.
• Participate regularly in Ignatian formation activities, including the school's formal formation program, Masses, retreats, and other scheduled activities and events.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
• Registered Nurse (RN);
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Ohio Provisional School Nurse Certificate preferred.
• Minimum of five years of nursing experience, preferably in a school setting.
• Current BLS Instructor or CPR/AED Instructor certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification.
• Experience working effectively with adolescents ages 14–18.
• Training in Mental Health First Aid preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, clinical assessment, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to Jesuit values and faith-based student formation.
• Willingness to embrace and model Catholic and Christian values and participate in the spiritual life of the school.
