KYOCERA SGS Precision Tools is looking for an experienced Electrical/Mechanical Technician to join our Maintenance team. You'll troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, CNC, and PLC-controlled equipment while supporting safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Why This Role MattersOur Electrical/Mechanical Technicians play an important role in keeping KSPT’s manufacturing operation running safely, reliably, and efficiently while working with our sophisticated manufacturing equipment and applying their technical expertise across:
Key Responsibilities- Equipment Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain manufacturing equipment and related components.
- Electrical, Mechanical & Controls: Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, including PLCs, CNC equipment, motor controls, sensors, switches, drives, and install software and make equipment modifications as needed.
- Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems: Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, including valves, cylinders, lines, and fittings.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance, identify root causes, and recommend repairs, upgrades, and improvements to increase equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and improve efficiency.
- Safety, Documentation & Team Support: Maintain equipment records, follow OSHA and company safety requirements including lockout/tagout, provide technical support and training to associates.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Five years of electrical/mechanical equipment repair and maintenance experience preferred.
- Technical degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Previous Experience with CNC, PLC, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Strong electrical/mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read technical schematics and drawings.
- Available to travel for additional specialized training as needed.
- Personal hand tools are preferred; KSPT provides specialty tools and equipment.
- Work in a well-lit, climate-controlled manufacturing environment with moderate to loud noise levels.
- Frequently stand and walk throughout the shift.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Regularly reach, bend, grip, kneel, crouch, stoop, or crawl to access machinery and equipment.
- Work around manufacturing oils, cutting fluids, grinding fluids, dust, and mists.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
