The Sr. Accountant is responsible for overseeing accounting and financial operations for U.S. and Canadian entities. This Sr. Accountant ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with U.S. GAAP and local regulations, and strong internal controls while supporting operational teams through financial analysis, inventory oversight, and process improvement initiatives.

• Own day-to-day general ledger accounting, including journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, inventory, and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow) for U.S. and Canadian operations.
• Analyze financial KPIs such as volume mix, unit costs, DSO, and DSI; explain key variances versus budget and prior periods.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close in accordance with Group timelines and policies.
• Maintain complete and accurate general ledger documentation and support schedules.
• Support external audits by preparing audit schedules, responding to auditor inquiries, and ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
• Provide accounting guidance to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and cross-functional finance partners.
• Support revenue recognition, inventory accounting, treasury activities, and bank reconciliations.

• Review inventory transactions and reconcile inventory valuation.
• Support cycle counts and physical inventories; analyze results and recommend process improvements.
• Partner with operations to review cost of goods sold, freight, routing, and standard costing for accuracy and transparency.
• Perform variance analysis and provide actionable insights to business partners.

• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, and internal accounting standards.
• Assist with statutory reporting and compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Support preparation of sales and use tax filings, including multi-state considerations.
• Prepare tax schedules to support federal and local filings.
• Identify and implement process improvements, including automation and simplification of accounting and reporting workflows.
• Contribute to documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
• Support ad hoc projects such as SKU rationalization and cost reduction initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong focus on financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Prior experience as a Senior Accountant, Lead Accountant, or Assistant Controller in a mid-to-large-sized organization
• Hands-on experience supporting external audits and regulatory compliance

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Experience with financial reporting, analysis, and audit compliance
• Proficiency in SAP required
• Advanced Excel skills (SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH, LOOKUP); experience with Power BI preferred
