Theater Instructor Pool-Part-Time

This recruitment will remain active for a period of one year, from the position opening date. If there is no longer a need to fill, the position may be closed sooner, and applicants will be notified.
This is a continuous recruitment to fill part‑time, temporary faculty assignments on an as‑needed basis. When the need arises, the department will refer to this pool of part‑time faculty.

The selected candidate must provide official transcripts and verification of experience prior to the first duty day, identification and employment eligibility as outlined in the Immigration Reform and Control Act, fingerprints, and required medical certification. Part‑time, varying schedule. Months of employment as needed.
- Master’s or Master of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance
- or Bachelor’s or Bachelor of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance
- and Master’s in comparative literature, English, communication studies, speech, literature, or humanities
- or possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area, or the equivalent.
- Commitment to diversity, demonstrated sensitivity and understanding of diverse backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff.
Demonstrated success in helping arts students from historically underrepresented and/or marginalized groups, non‑traditional students, speakers of other languages, and students with learning disabilities.
