Commercial Music Instructor Pool-Part‑Time
Position to support teaching in the Music Department at Cypress College. May be called for day, evening, hybrid/online, and dual enrollment courses. Responsibilities include lesson planning, delivering instruction, grading, and participating in faculty meetings.
Responsibilities• Prepare and deliver course content in accordance with department standards. • Assess and provide feedback on student work. • Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress. • Attend faculty meetings and professional development sessions as required.
Minimum Qualifications- Any bachelor’s degree or higher and at least two years of professional teaching experience in music.
- OR any associate degree and at least six years of professional teaching experience in music.
- OR a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject area.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion, with sensitivity to students from varied backgrounds.
- Demonstrated success working with underrepresented or marginalized students, nontraditional learners, or students with learning disabilities.
- Experience teaching online or hybrid courses.
- Professional music credentials or certifications.
Per lecture unit rate: $1,572.67 – $1,725.85. Per lab parity unit rate: $1,572.67 – $1,725.85. Per lab unit rate: $1,258.16 – $1,380.60.
