Salary: $1,572.67 – $1,725.85 per lecture or laboratory parity unit; $1,258.16 – $1,380.60 per lab unit.

Essential FunctionsExamples of essential functions are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature.
Minimum Qualifications- Master’s degree in political science, government, or international relations
- OR Bachelor’s in any of the above and a Master’s in economics, history, public administration, social science, sociology, ethnic studies, Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.)
- OR a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area
- OR equivalent qualifications determined by the District Equivalency Committee
- Commitment to diversity – demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse student backgrounds
- Knowledge of contemporary political issues and their application to classroom instruction
- Teaching experience at the community college level
- Demonstrated commitment to quality instruction, student motivation, and academic excellence
- Experience with innovative and creative teaching methods
- Proficiency in the use of computers/technology in teaching
- Experience with multiple instructional modalities
- Experience preparing students for CSU and UC pathways
- Experience supporting the success and retention of diverse student populations
