Special Instructions SummaryThis recruitment will remain active for one year from the opening date. If the need to fill the position no longer exists, it may be closed sooner and applicants will be notified.
This is a continuous recruitment to fill part‑time and temporary faculty assignments on an as‑needed basis. When a need arises, the department will refer to this pool of part‑time faculty.

The selected candidate will be required to provide official transcripts and verification of experience prior to the first duty day, identification and employment eligibility as outlined in the Immigration Reform and Control Act, fingerprints, and required medical certification pursuant to statute. NOCCCD will not sponsor any visa applications.

- Master’s in TESL, TESOL, applied linguistics with a TESL emphasis, linguistics with a TESL emphasis, English with a TESL emphasis or education with a TESL emphasis
- OR Bachelor’s in TESL, TESOL, English with a TESL certificate, linguistics with a TESL certificate, applied linguistics with a TESL certificate, or any foreign language with a TESL certificate
- AND Master’s in linguistics, applied linguistics, English, composition, bilingual/bicultural studies, reading, speech or any foreign language OR the equivalent
- OR Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area
- OR Equivalent qualifications, including related education, training, employment, and professional experience as determined by the District Equivalency Committee
- Commitment to diversity: demonstrated sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds
- Recent lower‑division or community college teaching experience
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective teaching techniques and assessment methods

- Ability to promote instructional technology in curriculum delivery
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Experience mentoring historically and socially minoritized/marginalized communities such as African‑American/Black, Chicanx/Latinx, Pacific Islander, Native American, women, LGBTQIA+, and people with disabilities
