Employment Type:
Part-Time, in a rotating pool for a variable number of months; scheduling varies. Instructors may be asked to teach during days, evenings, hybrid/online, or in the dual enrollment program.
- Master’s in dance, physical education with a dance emphasis, or theater with dance emphasis; OR Bachelor’s in any of the above.
- Master’s in physical education, life science, physiology, theater arts, kinesiology, humanities, performing arts or music; OR possession of a valid California teaching credential for community college in the appropriate subject area; OR equivalent education, training, employment, and professional experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity: sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.
- Demonstrated success in helping arts students from historically underrepresented and/or marginalized groups, non‑traditional students, speakers of other languages, and students with learning disabilities.
- All academic credentials must be verifiable on a legible transcript; official transcripts and foreign‑degree evaluations are required.
- Minimum required number of references: one (1).

Dance instructors will provide instruction during scheduled courses, which may include days, evenings, hybrid/online formats, and dual enrollment programs. Online/hybrid teaching requires additional campus‑based training.
