Special RequirementsAll awarded degrees must be verifiable on a legible transcript. Transcripts must be submitted; grade cards will not be accepted. Evaluations of foreign degrees are required.
Minimum Qualifications- Master’s degree in any biological science
- OR Bachelor’s degree in any biological science AND Master’s in biochemistry, biophysics, or marine science
- OR possession of a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject area; or equivalent qualifications determined by the District Equivalency Committee

Desirable Qualifications- Expertise in culturally responsive teaching in biology, particularly as it relates to the relevance of biology to students’ lives, interests, and communities; demonstrated ability to address equity gaps of racially minoritized groups within biology.
- Experience working collaboratively with full‑time and adjunct faculty to coordinate and maintain a curriculum that responds to the needs of historically underrepresented students.
- Demonstrated success in helping students from historically underrepresented and/or marginalized groups, nontraditional students, speakers of other languages, and students with learning disabilities.
$1,572.67 – $1,725.85 per lecture unit rate; $1,572.67 – $1,725.85 per lab parity unit rate; $1,258.16 – $1,380.60 per lab unit rate.
